Time management & stress

Since the introduction of the internet our world has become more connected, but people are now being expected to work longer hours and be more readily available around the clock. Our world no longer shuts down after hours and now neither do we. This added pressure has had an adverse effect on our mental health and as expectations from work rise, our overall health, and, ironically, productivity continue to decline. Health Approach works with you, your schedule, and your deadlines to create an effective strategy to help you find balance and manage your time more efficiently. By having a healthy approach to managing your time, you can prevent burnout, be more productive, and be a happier you.

Management

Successful time management begins with understanding and improving your relationship with time. How do you perceive time? Do you feel like you have enough? Do you feel like you’re not spending it wisely? These feelings are becoming increasingly common as society as a whole continues to expect robot-like perfection, leading to feelings of anxiety or even guilt when thinking about how we use our time. At Health Approach, we concentrate on setting realistic expectations for yourself and your schedule so that you can set and achieve your own time-management goals. We teach you how to take accountability for your time and control how you utilise it without being stressed about achieving perfection.

Procrastination

To procrastinate is to create a problem for another day until eventually it snowballs to a point where you feel too overwhelmed and more stressed than you needed to be. We often postpone tasks as a way to avoid facing the way we feel when doing them, sometimes feeling apprehension or even feeling something as intense as fear. We can only solve these issues by understanding, at a deep level, why you are so intent on procrastinating and putting off the completion of these tasks so that a plan and strategy can be developed to help you overcome these same blockages moving forward. Solving the problem at the core can help you in becoming more productive than ever before!

Self-Care

When you hear the term “self-care” you may be thinking of pedicures, facials, or massages, but the truth is that self-care is about making a commitment to nourish yourself holistically on multiple levels. Taking care of your mind, body and soul doesn’t require a day at the spa, and instead requires giving your body the care it needs and deserves to thrive - sometimes it’s as simple as taking yourself for a walk around the block because you haven’t moved your body today or you need some fresh air after a busy work-from-home day. Ensuring you schedule in time for yourself during periods of high pressure and stress helps make sure you feel at your best so you can work more effectively.
